Online TeleData Training Courses
The following five courses are offered to IBEW 20 members holding TeleData classifications. The following courses address the training requirements for Installers level 1-5.
- Level 1 Course – Low Voltage Structured Cabling Systems (includes Grounding training). Cost – $288.62
- You are required to take this course and have 2,000 hours to become a Level 2 Installer.
- Level 2 Course – Fiber optics. Cost – $246.98
- You are required to take this course and have 4,000 hours to become a Level 3 Installer.
- Level 3 Course – Security (includes Access Control). Cost – $155.02
- You are required to take this course and have 6,000 hours to become a Level 4 Installer.
- Level 4 Course – Audio-Video (A/V and Streaming Technology). Cost – $129.24
- You are required to take this and have 8,000 hourscourse to become a Level 5 Installer.
- Level 5 Course – Networking Technology. Cost – $138.74
- You are required to take this course, have 10,000 or more hours, and have a BICSI certifcation to advance to Technician.
Each course is self-paced but must be completed in 90 days. Multiple courses may be taken simultaneously, but it is recommended that no more than 3 are taken at one time. Each course is stand-alone and has no prerequisites. Access to a computer and a reliable internet connection is required.
Once registered, books will be ordered.
You will be notified when to pick up the books. You may register in person, but a second trip to the school will be required once the books arrive. A tutorial for online learning will be given on book pickup day. Cash is not accepted. Check, money order, cashiers check, or credit card.
You can check your hours with the Local Union to see if you have enough hours to advance.
